A lot has changed recently in the world of real estate and one thing is for sure, it’s become more challenging than ever. One of the most frequent internet searches is real estate, and most sites and platforms cater to sellers, owners, along with their Realtors®, agents, brokers, etc.
When you look closer, these platforms are very good at finding different ways to feature the same properties over and over again. At PropertyBuyersConnect.com, we want to offer a service dedicated to the needs of Buyers and Renters by creating a private communication forum open to ALL users. We’re not trying to compete with sites like Realtor.com, Homes.com, or Zillow®. Our goal is to offer a service focused on ALL real estate needs and one that takes a different approach to arrive at the same destination: finding your property.
It’s actually fairly simple. We wanted to offer a service that highlights the needs of buyers and renters to help level the playing field. We know that using the same old methods is challenging because so many people are looking for the same things. How do we know this? Because this service was created by Realtors®, and we use many of the same sites that you do! We created this platform because the time has come to find new and different ways to search for real estate. PropertyBuyersConnect.com is designed to give users the ability to create a confidential Want to Buy (WTB) or Want to Rent (WTR) post to broadcast to a wide audience. Responses to your post(s) will come from potential sellers, landlords, Realtors®, brokers, etc., directly to your personal InBox, saving you countless hours of looking at the same properties over and over and over.
For Sellers and Landlords
If you’ve considered selling your property but aren’t quite ready to go through “traditional” channels, or if you’re a Realtor® or broker who has a Private Placement Listing, Pocket Listing, or some other off-market opportunity that limits where and to whom you can advertise, we are here to help. This service was created to offer alternative methods to showcase properties for all types of sellers, owners, Realtors®, brokers, and other industry professionals.
Do Recent Changes in the Industry Affect This Platform?
Probably the biggest change in the real estate industry through new rules and regulations resulting from the Sitzer v. NAR et al. ruling handed down in the summer of 2024. The most notable result is that MLS boards can no longer publish buyer agent compensation amounts. Additionally, there's now a requirement for a Buyer-Broker Representation Agreement to be in place, clarifying the buyer agent’s compensation and how it may be obtained and disbursed. The biggest takeaway here is that you, the consumer, have the ability to confidentially ask all of the questions that are important to you before signing any agreements.
How does it affect Realtors® and brokers on this platform?
In short, we are not affiliated with any MLS board, and we are NOT a listing service, so if a Realtor® or broker chooses to include information about buyer agent compensation, they are free to do so. We have encouraged Buyer-Broker representation since before this ruling, because in many situations, it makes sense.
Just like everything else, we don’t condone or take a position on the amounts of compensation offered to buyer agents, nor do we dictate how or from whom they originate. Our only position is that it’s a decision best made by all parties involved, after full disclosure and discussion of the facts, most importantly, what helps move the transaction forward.
Is This a Service That Restricts Realtors®?
No, it’s the opposite. Just as we give potential buyers, sellers, renters, and owners a new way to communicate, we’re providing the same opportunity for Realtors®, and at a fraction of the cost. In fact, Realtors® and other subscribers can reply directly to users who have posted their real estate needs to a wide audience.
Once they reply, their status will include a Verification Badge and offer a direct link to their profile in our Resource Center. As most Realtors® already know, those who don’t want to use an agent probably won’t and have likely already gone to a FSBO (For Sale by Owner) platform. That said, the vast majority of transactions still involve Realtors®, agents, and brokers. Our service simply creates a new way for these people to find one another and connect at their own pace.
In most simple terms, instead of navigating a site with dozens or hundreds of Realtor® profiles, your profile is attached to a direct response to a user’s Want to Buy (WTB) or Want to Rent (WTR) post. When they click your profile, they’ve already seen your message, so there is no need to stand out in a sea of bios hoping someone picks yours. If one thing remains certain, it is that hope is not a good strategy when it comes to client acquisition.
Now, when they open your bio on PropertyBuyersConnect.com, they’ll already know more about you — and most importantly, they’ll be looking at only your profile.
How Does It Work?
Here’s how PropertyBuyersConnect.com works (and yes, it really is this simple):
- Go to the Dashboard icon on the main taskbar and set up your Profile either as an Individual User or as a subscribing member of our Resource Center.
- You can then create Want to Buy (WTB) or Want to Rent (WTR) posts and receive direct replies in your dedicated Inbox.
- All you need to register is to create a username and password — no email address or mobile number required.
(Unlike traditional real estate platforms whose primary goal is often to capture and share your personal contact information — or sell it to the highest bidder.)
After creating your profile:
- Select either Want to Buy (WTB) or Want to Rent (WTR) from the corresponding icon and follow the prompts.
- Sellers, owners, landlords, Realtors®, and brokers can search posts by city, state, or ZIP code and reply to WTB/WTR posts by creating their own profile.
- Your dedicated inbox (found in your dashboard) allows you to send and receive confidential, direct messages with other users.
If you’d like to receive email notifications when someone replies to your Want to Buy (WTB) or Want to Rent (WTR) post or creates a post in areas you follow, you can OPT-IN on your profile page at any time. Again, your contact information is 100% optional, and unless you choose to receive notifications, your email or any other personal contact information will NEVER be required.
It’s been said that “the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”
Because there’s truth in that, we simply wanted to offer an alternative platform to solve a common problem.
We’re not trying to compete with the big real estate platforms, and frankly, we’re not sure that we want to. If you’re anything like us and believe there must be another way to find the right real estate opportunities, give us a try.
